As an Operations Excellence Project Manager, you will be responsible for creating and leading the advancement of Operational Excellence principles and practices across ADC Division through internal & external collaborations, delivering high impact sustainable business results.
This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.
What You'll Do
Operational Excellence
- Responsible for leading Division Operational Excellence initiatives, including but not limited to the following; Division Framework/Governance, Training & Capabilities, Standardized Metrics, Tools & Resources.
- Drive Division alignment with ADC Core Purpose Values.
- Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement across Division.
- Monitor ADC site Operational Excellence initiatives, including but not limited to the following; 6S Program, Gemba Program, MOR Model, Class A and Shingo methodology.
- Support the Division sites in reaching business goals and vision by support of appropriate Operational Excellence tools & methodology (such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma).
- Act as a change agent implementing lean initiatives that are aligned with Division business strategies.
- Provide problem solving support activities across Division, utilizing various improvement tools including applicable training activities.
- Provide quarterly Operational Excellence updates to Operations and Quality Senior management. Updates to include performance against Division metrics and goals.
- Continue to build divisional/site awareness and engagement of Operational Excellence principles and methodologies through effective communication, education & training.
- Perform Internal and external benchmarking to measure success and identify improvement opportunities for ADC sites.
- Develop programs and initiatives that support the Division Opex business strategies and plans.
- Provide strategic thinking to anticipate future issues and challenges and create appropriate plans now, using proactive approaches.
Project Management
- Interfaces with senior management on significant matters, potentially requiring the coordination of activity across Division.
- Lead a project team. Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Exercises judgment independently.
- Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones.
- Generate, communicate, and implements operational plans for completing the most complex specialist projects.
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
- Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
- Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project.
- Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (e.g., engineering, drafting, technical) to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
- Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
- Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
- Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments. Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion.
Experience You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Science, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 8-10 years of demonstrated success in applying Continuous Improvement / BEx tools. Experience in manufacturing operations, business improvement, quality systems or other areas related to the project with an understanding of Abbott internal systems and procedures.
- Certification or equivalent working knowledge of improvement tools and methodologies – Lean/Six Sigma; Green Belt preferred (Black belt a plus) . Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for FDA regulated environment. Experience in operations management and knowledge of cost accounting/financial reporting systems.
- Demonstrated success with initiating, executing, and closing projects.
- Good functional computer skills (Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Power Bi etc.) is required.
- A career history marked by a consistent series of contributions and accomplishments.
- Interacts well with diverse groups within ADC and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Listens to and understands others’ points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one’s own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
- Works well with cross functional teams in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.
- Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile project differences.
- A technical background in health care, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred).
- Understanding of financial systems and in fiscal control.
- Understanding and management of procurement & contracting processes.
Preferred
- Certification in Lean Leadership or equivalent

The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 – $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
